Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.

Born in Buffalo, New York on January 27, 1955, John G. Roberts Jr. is the 17th Chief Justice of the United States. He married Jane Sullivan in 1996 and currently presides over the Supreme Court, which consists of nine justices: one Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices.

Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS)

Established by Article III of the Constitution, SCOTUS serves as the highest court in the federal judiciary of the United States. It possesses ultimate appellate jurisdiction over cases decided by lower federal courts and state courts of last resort.
